The Friday Prayer at the Presidential Palace complex, which is usually held at the Baiturrahim mosque, was performed in four different places to comply with the health protocol during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Thank God we can perform Friday Prayer at the Palace complex with a very strict health protocol,” Cabinet Secretary wrote in his personal Instagram account @pramonoanungw after performing Friday prayer at Hall of the 3rd Building of Ministry of State Secretariat, Jakarta.

For the record, Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued Circular Number 15 of 2020 stipulating guidelines for the implementation of religious activities at places of worship during the pandemic.

The circular states that religious activities and social religious activities at places of worship must take into account the updated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the neighborhood where the place of worship is located.

The circular also regulates that the permit for places of worship to hold congregational prayer activities are based on the R-Naught/RO numbers and Effective Reproduction Number/RT in the respective neighborhood.

Furthermore, the statement guarantying the safety of places of worship must be issued by regional or local COVID-19 Task Force after consulting with regional leaders, religious councils and relevant institutions in every region (EN)
