Friendly Countries Ambassadors Committed to Strengthening Bilateral Ties with Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto on Friday (7/11) received letters of credence from newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of friendly countries to Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The ambassadors highlighted the focus of further strengthening the bilateral relations in various sectors, including the economy, politics, education, and community engagement.

To commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Poland, Poland’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Barbara Szymanowska, underscored the friendship and shared values of the two countries. She noted that future bilateral relations will focus on agriculture, technology, and the defense sector.

“We are connected not only because of our flags – red and white, merah putih and, but also by our national symbols, Poland’s white eagle and Garuda. Both of them stand for strength, dignity, and independence. I really hope that we will cooperate in many ways, starting from agriculture, green and digital technology, transportation, and defense,” said Barbara.

Kuwait Ambassador to Indonesia Khalid Jassim Alyassin believed that Indonesia is a strategic partner in keeping stability in the region and the global economy. He reaffirmed the commitment to advancing bilateral ties in investment, trade, and food security.

“We are looking forward to strengthen the existing relationship and to elevate to a higher level, especially in the fields of investment, trade, economy, energy, clean energy development, and food security. I believe Indonesia is an important player in world affairs, especially the G20, OIC, ASEAN,” said Khalid.

Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri noted that the bilateral ties between the two countries had developed long before Independence Day. He expressed the commitment to advance the cooperation in defense sector, economy, and community.

“Pakistan and Indonesia have historically enjoyed brotherly and friendly relations here. As Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia, my endeavor would be to further strengthen cooperation, expand our relations, particularly in the areas of defense cooperation, economic and trade relations, but most importantly further strengthen people-to-people contacts,” said Zahid.

Meanwhile, Yaman Ambassador to Indonesia Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh emphasized Indonesia -Yaman close-tied relations started from long history of migration and religion. Salem affirmed the commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.

“Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Yaman have started since the seventh century when Yaman people, especially from Hadhramaut, migrated to Indonesia. These relations, as we can see, are in trade, politics, religion, and education sectors. We can see many students in Yaman are from Indonesia,” said Salem. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/LW)
