Gain the Gold, President SBY Appreciates G. Polii/Nitya and Hendra/Ahsan

The success of Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda and Hendra Setiawa/Mohammad Ahsan couples that presented gold medal for Indonesian contingents on the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea, gained the appreciation from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Through his twitter account @SBYudhoyono , President SBY who is on his state visit in Osaka, Japan, congratulated the Indonesian pairs of men’s/women’s doubles who gained the gold medal of the 2014 Asian Games 2014.

“Congratulations to the Indonesian Badminton Team of men’s/women’s doubles who gained the gold medal in the 2014 Asian Games for Indonesia,” President SBY wrote it on his private twitter account uploaded on Sunday evening.

As known, the pair of Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda gained the first gold medal for Indonesia after defeating the pair from Japan, Ayaka Takahashi/Misaki Matsutomo with 21-15, 21-9.

While the second gold was presented by the pair of Hendra/Ahsan who conquered the host’s doubles Lee Yong-dae/Yoo Yeo-seong for 21-16, 16-21, and 21-17on the final men’s doubles held in Gyeyang Gymnasium, Incheon, on Sunday.

The success of pair Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda and Hendra/Ahsan who presented gold medals, made Indonesia to be the 14th from the 17th. The first position is China with 104 gold medals, 63 silvers, and 48 bronzes. While at the second place is the host team, Korea with 41 gold, 48 silvers, and 45 bronzes.

Indonesia still hope for a gold medal in badminton branch via the mixed doubles because today (on Monday), the pair of Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir will against the pair from China, Zhang Nan/Zhang Yunlei.
