President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana have officially been registered as voters for the 2024 General Elections following their participation  in the matching and verification process of voter data held at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (03/14).

According to Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy’ari, this process showed that the 2024 General Elections still follows the timetable.

“This is the symbol that the 2024 General Elections will proceed according to the schedule and the matching and verification process of voter data is part of the series of general elections activities,” he said.

The participation of President Jokowi and the First Lady as Indonesian citizens in the matching and verification process reflected their active participations in the 2024 General Elections.

Furthermore, Hasyim explained that the number of voters which would be used as the basis for updating the data reaches 204 million voters. This number is collected by matching the Potential Electoral Voters List (DP4) and Final Voters List (DPT) compiled by the KPU.

“After the two lists are synchronized, the voter data updating officers (pantarlih) will use the data as an instrument for updating voter data. To date, the number of voters whose data to be matched and verified has reached 204,559,713”, he added. (Bureau for Press, Media and Information of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GA/MMB)
