President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo who was represented by Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto officially launched the One Map Policy 2.0 Geoportal and the One Map Policy (OMP) White Paper Beyond 2024 and also delivered the Presentation of the Achievement Results of the National Strategic Projects and the Special Economic Zones, at The St. Regis, Jakarta, Thursday (07/18) afternoon. The Minister expressed hope that the One Map Policy Geoportal can create space efficiency and accelerate development.

“This one map policy is expected to create efficiency and avoid overlapping use of space so that the development process can be accelerated,” said Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, adding that speed is a vital necessity to run an effective government. Moreover, in the midst of global competition and uncertainty, the Government must be able to provide certainty and create an efficient business climate to attract investment.

“We need investment. For that reason, we need a good business climate and good governance. This one map policy has apparently succeeded in reducing overlapping space utilization in a short time,” said Prabowo.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of efficiency in managing the available potential and resources. Moreover, the Government also needs to prioritize policies that provide benefits to society.

“I am very optimistic. Our wealth is so great, our potential is so great, and thus we have to be more efficient, we have to manage them well and make reasonable policies, and we are determined to mitigate leaks, fraud, and policies that do not benefit national interests and the people’s interests,” he stressed.

According to him, the presence of digital programs in various fields is very important to create effectiveness in government and accelerate national development.

“With programs like one map policy, with e-catalogs, with technology in all fields, it is very possible for us to reduce inefficiencies. I am sure and confident that policies like this one will produce good results. With these special economic zones and national strategic project programs, we can accelerate development,” he stressed.
