Gov’t Accelerates Disbursement of Wage Subsidy for Workers

Ministry of Manpower has affirmed its commitment to accelerate the distribution of the second term wage subsidy for workers.

“We continue to accelerate wage subsidy disbursement to 12.4 million beneficiaries so they can immediately receive the assistance in accordance with predetermined criteria,” Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said, Jakarta, Friday (11/12).

Based on data as of 8 December, the total beneficiaries of the second term disbursement has reached 11,023,780 workers, comprising of 2,177,915 workers in the 1st stage, 2,711,358 workers in the 2nd stage, 3,146,314 workers in the 3rd stage, 2,439,982 workers in the 4th stage, and 548,211 workers in the 5th stage.

A total budget of 13,228 trillion has been disbursed for the second term wage subsidy, consisting of Rp 2.613 trillion (1st stage), Rp 3.253 trillion (2nd stage), 3.775 trillion (3rd stage), 2.927 trillion (4th stage), and Rp 657,853 billion (5th stage).

“As of today, the number of wage subsidy beneficiaries has reached 11 million workers. The process of subsidy disbursement will still continue until the total number of beneficiaries reaches 12.4 million workers,” the Minister said.

Ministry of Manpower will also constantly coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the program is on target, including with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), Directorate General of Taxation of Ministry of Finance (DJP Kemenkeu), the Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), and state-owned banks.

“During the disbursement process, we will continue to coordinate with relevant parties, for example  data verification with the Social Security Agency (BPJS), data matching with the Directorate General of Taxation , as well as the monitoring and supervision by the KPK, BPK, and BPKP,” Ida said.
