President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (11/25) reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthening the people’s economy during an evaluation meeting on Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative development acceleration held at the headquarters of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI).

The meeting also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in ensuring that every cooperative can function professionally and directly benefit the community.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the Red and White Cooperative program is designed to foster economic equality down to the village level.

“The President’s presence showed that the cooperative agenda is not merely a supporting initiative but also a national strategy to foster economic independence at the village level,” Teddy said in a written statement.

Teddy added that the evaluation provided valuable momentum for the Central Government, regional governments, and the TNI to assess the progress of cooperative development across Indonesia.

“The President emphasized the importance of collaboration between the [Central] Government, TNI, and regional governments as a crucial factor in enabling the Red and White Cooperatives to operate professionally and deliver direct benefit to the people,” he said.

The Government envisions the Red and White Cooperatives as a cornerstone of the people’s economy, fostering national resilience and long-term prosperity.

Teddy also stated that the policy alignment and development acceleration discussed during the evaluation meeting are expected to ensure that the cooperatives can truly meet the people’s needs.

“Through this integrated evaluation, the Government seeks to speed up the facility development of cooperatives as the center for the community’s essential needs distribution, local economic empowerment, and equitable service distribution for villages and sub-districts,” he remarked.
