Gov’t Affirms Energy Stability, Strengthens Economic Resilience Amid Global Uncertainty

In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting focused on discussing recent developments in the global economy.
“The President received the chairperson and members of the National Economic Council (DEN) along with a number of relevant ministers to discuss global economic developments, including the potential impact of the escalation of the Middle East conflict on the global economy and Indonesia, in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11, 2026,” Teddy said.
According to Teddy, the meeting also affirmed that the country’s current energy supply remains secure, adding that the Government will continue efforts to ensure adequate fuel and gas availability to meet domestic demand.
“During the meeting, it was reported that the national fuel and gas supply remains adequate. The Government will continue to monitor global energy price trends and implement mitigation measures to manage their potential impact on the state budget,” Teddy said.
In addition to addressing energy stability, the President, Teddy added, also underscored the importance of strategic measures to strengthen national economic resilience.
The Cabinet Secretary also noted one of the President’s key priorities is accelerating the energy self-sufficiency program to reduce the nation’s reliance on global energy supplies.
“The President also highlighted the importance of accelerating energy self-sufficiency and advancing government digitalization, including a pilot program for the digital distribution of social assistance, to enhance the efficiency of state spending,” Teddy said.
Teddy further said that the President also urged all levels of government to stay alert to ongoing global developments and emphasized that anticipation and policy responsiveness are essential to maintaining national economic stability amid continuing global uncertainty.
