Gov’t Aims for One Million Vaccinations Per Day in July

The Government has announced target to give 700,000 jabs of vaccine per day in June and one million jabs per day in July.

During inspection at mass COVID-19 vaccination site on Wednesday (09/06) at Kelapa Dua Sport Center Indoor Stadium in Tangerang regency, Banten province, the President ordered his Cabinet to speed up vaccination across the country to meet the target.

“We want the (mass) vaccination process that is carried out in Tangerang regency, in a large number, to also be carried out by other provinces, by other regencies / cities, so (with) our (vaccination) rate, we can achieve 700,000 (vaccinations) per day in June and one million per day,” he said.

According to the President, mass vaccination in Tangerang regency that targeted approximately 10,000 people have proceeded well.

“This afternoon I inspected mass vaccination in Tangerang regency, Banten Province, (joined by) approximately 10,000 people, including senior citizens, pre-senior citizens, education workers, everyone. I saw that the management was orderly and the vaccination proceeded well,” he said while expressing appreciation for the efforts made by every stakeholder in continuing to successfully implement national vaccination program.

“I would like to thank Banten Governor and Tangerang Regent, and especially Minister of Health for their continuous efforts. We hope this (vaccination) will protect us all from COVID-19 transmission,” he remarked.

For the record, based on the data from the Health Agency of Tangerang regency, the vaccination target of the regency is 79,194 people. As of Monday (07/06), as many as 84,302 people have received the first dose and 67,325 people have received the second dose. (TGH/UN) (DH/EP)
