Gov’t Already Disburses Rp395.92 for Economic Recovery Program

Budget realization of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program as of 17 September 2021 already reached Rp395.92 trillion or 53.2 percent of total ceiling of Rp744.77 trillion.

The announcement was made by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a live-streamed press conference on the development of public activity restrictions (PPKM) policy, Monday (20/09).

Airlangga said that the significant progress in the budget realization include the Healthcare Program worth Rp97.28 trillion, increasing from Rp47.71 trillion [in the second quarter].

Meanwhile, the realization of the Social Protection Program, he added, increased from Rp66.43 trillion [in the second quarter] to Rp112.87 trillion.

The realization of the Priority Program also increased from Rp41.83 trillion [in the second quarter] to Rp59.51 trillion, he added.

The Minister also said that the realization of the MSMEs Support Program increased from Rp51.27 trillion [in the second quarter] to Rp68.35 trillion or 42.1 percent of total ceiling and the realization of the Corporate Support Program reached Rp57.92 trillion or 92.2 percent of total ceiling.

In addition to the Social Protection Program, Airlangga added that this year the Government distributed assistance to 5.2 million recipients through Pre-Employment Card Program (from the 12th batch to the 20th batch in 2021).

According to Airlangga, four million recipients have taken part in the program by completing trainings and webinars, whole 3.8 million recipients have been given assistance amounting to Rp7.3 trillion.

“We are now moving to the next batch of Pre-Employment Card Program, which is the 21th batch that targets 754 thousand recipients,” Airlangga added.

The Minister also underscored that the Government has disbursed Rp8.8 trillion of wage subsidy to 4.61 million workers/laborers (each of them receiving Rp1 million) as of 17 September 2021, adding that the realization of the Productive Presidential Assistance for Micro Businesses (Banpres BPUM) reached Rp15.25 trillion or 99.3 percent of total ceiling.

On that occasion, Airlangga also announced that Indonesia would organize several national and international events, including the 2020 National Games (PON) in Papua that will be held in the beginning of October this year.

To that end, In order to make the event a success, the Government, Airlangga said, will speed up vaccination drive in the province to reach 70 percent of vaccination rate.

For the record, in Jayapura regency, Jayapura city, Keerom regency, Merauke regency, and Mimika regency, the first dose of vaccination has reached 56 percent of the population, while the second dose has reached 35 percent.

Airlangga further said that the Government would also host  the 2021 World Superbike (WSBK) in Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara province in November and to support the event,  the Government will also continue to speed up vaccination drive in the province. (TGH/UN) (AP/EP)
