A coronavirus patient (case #25) died on Wednesday (11/3) early morning, the Government spokesperson for matters related to coronavirus Achmad Yurianto has announced.

“The patient had preexisting medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, and chronic obstructive lung disease for a long time,” Yurianto said in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/3).

According to Yurianto, the patient is a 53-year-old British female citizen. Yurianto also stated that the Government had discharged two patients.

“Patient #6 and patient #14 have tested twice and the results are negative,” he said, adding that two discharged patients are required to perform self-quarantine and avoid direct contact with others, including families.

Yurianto went on to say that the conditions of other patients are improving and expressed hopes that there will be more to be discharged.

Furthermore, the Government, he added, continues to carry out tracing and found several new patients under surveillance. He also pointed out that the specimens had been examined in the laboratory but the results have not been released.

Several new patients under surveillance that have been observed in the last few days, Yuri continued, have tested negative and those who showed no symptoms have also discharged.

“We urge them to carry out self-quarantine and remain within the supervision of the local health department,” he said. (MAY/EN)
