The Government has taken assertive measures to enhance the governance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) by carrying out comprehensive evaluations.
According to Rosan Roeslani, Head of the Danantara Investment Management Board and Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, the evaluations are conducted in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives to ensure that the vision and missions of SOE managements are aligned.
“We will conduct the evaluations together with Danantara and in collaboration with domestic and foreign advisors to enhance the competence, propriety, commitment, and character [of the managements], Rosan said in a press statement following the 2025 Danantara Indonesia Town Hall event at Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (04/28).
Meanwhile, during the meeting, Rosan reported that as many as 844 SOEs have officially become a part of Danantara, stressing that Danantara is a manifestation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which underscores that Indonesia’s economy is built upon a kinship principle.
“Indonesia’s economy is built on purpose, not by chance. If it were by chance, it would mean surrendering completely to market mechanisms. While we respect market mechanisms, the Government has the right to intervene if they stray far from national interests and national development,” he said.
Rosan further stated that Danantara serves as a milestone in strengthening the national economy’s self-sufficiency, particularly amidst rising global geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions.
“Danantara emerges at a crucial moment. Why? Because the recent significant escalation in global geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions has prompted many nations in the world to recognize that they must rely on their own economic power,” he said.
Rosan also emphasized the importance of creating synergy to establish Indonesia Incorporated, a vision aimed at achieving a prosperous Indonesia through the collaboration between government officials and business leaders under the President’s guidance.
Rosan urged all the managements of Danantara and SOEs to uphold three principles—character, competence, and commitment—in realizing the grand vision.
“I hope the recently established Danantara can collaborate with SOEs to create an extraordinary positive impact not only on the Indonesian economy but also on the people, nation, and our beloved homeland,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/TM)
