Gov’t Boosts Community Fisheries as President Prabowo Subianto Inspects South Leato

President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (05/09) inspected the fish sorting and packing shelter at the Red and White Fishers’ Village in South Leato subdistrict, Gorontalo city, Gorontalo province.

The visit reflects the Government’s commitment to strengthening the community-based fisheries ecosystem and improving fishers’ welfare through integrated supporting facilities.

Upon arrival, the Head of State toured the harbor area and observed fishers sorting their catch at the shelter. He also engaged in dialogue with fishers aboard their boats.

During the dialogue, President Prabowo Subianto asked the fishers about their activities, including the number of crew members, the challenges they encounter at sea, and fuel-related issues.

The fishers then shared their experiences with the President in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

One of the fishers, Acon Karim, expressed his delight at being able to speak directly with the President, noting that the President paid close attention to the daily activities and needs of the fishers.

“He asked how many crew members were on the boat and also asked about the fuel supply, including whether it was located far away or not,” the fisher said.

Acon also expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit to the fishing port area.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for coming to the Red and White Port,” he said.

Another fisher, Brawijaya Kadullah, conveyed a similar sentiment, expressing his appreciation for the Government’s support in providing facilities for fishers in Red and White Fishers’ Village.

“I’d like to especially thank our President, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, for providing facilities for the Red and White Fishers’ Cooperative,” he said.

Another fisher, Tetin Yuli, also expressed the community’s happiness over the President’s visit to the area.

“We, the people here, are very happy about the President’s visit,” Tetin said.

The President’s visit to the fish sorting and packing shelter underscored the Government’s dedication to developing the marine and fisheries sector from the grassroots level.

By establishing the Red and White Fishers’ Village, the Government is advancing the provision of facilities that enhance fishers’ productivity and increase the value of catches for coastal communities. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/EP)
