Gov’t Building More Facilities for COVID-19 Treatment

Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has announced it has completed construction and renovation of several COVID-19 facilities as of the end of last year.

“The construction of the isolation facilities/observation facilities are part of the efforts to increase the quantity and quality of services to cure COVID-19 patients. The completion of the hospitals is also part of the efforts of the Ministry to support COVID-19 handling,” webpage pu.go.id quoted Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono on Friday (22/01).

In the meantime, the Ministry’s Director General of Construction Diana Kusumastuti said that the construction has been conducted in a relatively short period (no more than 45 days) and has been assisted by the BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency) in every province.

For the record, the Gov’t last year completed the construction of dr. Zainoel Abidin  General Hospital in the provincial town of Banda Aceh in Aceh province and lr. Soekarno General Hospital in Bangka Belitung province, and has also completed the renovation of Kitawaya Building in North Sulawesi Province.

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has also completed the construction / renovation of health facilities in a number of areas for COVID-19 handling, including quarantine facilities in Galang Island, renovation of the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, renovation of Lamongan Hospital facilities, renovation of Biak Numfor Papua Regional Hospital, as well as renovation of Arjuna Building and Yudhistira Building of Gajah Mada University Academic Hospital in Yogyakarta Province.
