Gov’t Committed to Developing Tanjung Pulisan Tourism SEZ in Manado

The Government has expressed commitment to support the construction of Tanjung Pulisan Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Likupang, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi province.

“(We are) ready to support to set anything necessary,” President Jokowi told reporters while inspecting the special zone on Thursday (4/7).

The integrated work between the central and regional Governments, the President continued, is a necessity in order to speed up the development of Tanjung Pulisan Tourism SEZ.

According to President Jokowi, there are no problems in the permit issuance on the SEZ Tourism infrastructure development but spatial planning issues still prevail, adding that during his visit Manado visit, he will lead a limited cabinet meeting to resolve the issue.

Once all problems have been resolved, including widening city roads and toll roads, the President expressed hope that investors will not hesitate to invest in Tourism SEZ.

President Jokowi has also ordered the regional governments and Ministry of Tourism to host a cultural event on a regular basis. “(The event can be held) either in the city of Manado or in the (Likupang) SEZ,” he said. (HIM/JAY/ES)
