President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo affirmed the Government commitment to improve system for preventing corruption.

“We will continue to improve system in all ministries and institutions,” he said in a press statement at Halim Perdanakusuma Airforce Base, Jakarta, Thursday (07/27).

According to the President, the improvement will be made in the Government goods and services procurement system in all ministries and institutions through e-catalog.

“There are around four million products listed in e-catalog. Previously, it was only 50,000 products; thus, it is an improvement in the system,” he said.

He went on to say that the Government respects the legal process for officials who were caught during a sting operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“If someone really violated the system, took something for their own interest and they get caught in OTT, we will respect the prevailing legal process,” he remarked. (DND/UN) (RAS/MUR)
