Gov’t Completes 170 Strategic Projects as of October
Indonesia from 2016 to October 2023 has completed 170 National Strategic Projects (PSN), according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
“We have reported to the President that as of 4 October as many as 170 PSN with a total investment value of Rp1,299.41 trillion have been completed while 61 other projects are under construction,” he said after attending a limited meeting led by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (10/05), at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
The projects include infrastructure development of seaports, toll roads, railways, and airports; improvement of energy security, regional development and industrial downstreaming; provision of basic infrastructure such as drinking water supply systems (SPAM), dams, and irrigation and telecommunications networks; as well as development of technology, plantations, education and tourism sectors.
“The projects have been completed, among other the construction of toll roads, seaports, Jakarta-Bandung high speed train with total value of Rp125.7 trillion, as well as LRT projects with a value of Rp2,909 trillion, and development of industrial zones, construction of dams and toll roads connecting Cinere-Jagorawi, Serpong-Cinere, and Pasuruan toll road,” he added.
The Minister went on to say that the 16 other projects which are currently on process are among others, Kisaran-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road, Likupang Seaport, Makassar New Port, dams, and Tangguh LNG project’s Train 3.
According to him, the Government has set a target to complete 25 national strategic projects with total investment value of Rp151.48 trillion by October 2024.
“The projects are including development of toll road, industrial zones, airports, Benoa Maritime Tourism, and Universitas Islam Indonesia [university buildings],” he said adding that 12 projects are targeted to complete within a period between 20 October to December 2024, while 42 projects will be completed in the year after.
“There are projects that are under construction or in partial operation, and the completion date will be later than 2024. So, there are 42 projects with a value of Rp1,427.36 trillion. Considering the fact that the projects are already underway and the financial close is done, this project will of course continue until completion,” he remarked. (TGH/UN) (RAS/LW)
