The Government continues to ensure that educating communities in the village, especially the children, in disaster preparedness can go according to the plan.

According to the President, Indonesia is prone to disasters due to the country’s geographic position in the Pacific ring of fire and no one knows when the disaster will come.

“Whatever it is, we have to be thankful for the tests that God has given to us the Indonesian people,” the President said on his remarks during the Community Preparedness Enhancement Through the Emergency Response Unit (Tagana) Goes to Schools and Villages, in Tanjung Lesung, Pandeglang, Banten, Monday (18/2).

President Jokowi added that the most important thing is that the Tagana will continue to carry out dissemination, lessons, and motivation to students as well as communities to raise their awareness of disasters so that they are ready to face any disaster that occurs.

“If we don’t understand what we have to do (when disaster occurs) then there will be many victims,” the President said, while expressing his gratitude to community organizations that are willing to learn how to deal with disasters. (DND/OJI/ES)
