Gov’t Declares 9 December as Public Holiday

The Central Government has announced that simultaneous regional election day on 9 December 2020 is a public holiday.
The decision was stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 22 of 2020 signed by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on 27 November 2020.
“Wednesday, 9 December 2020 has been declared as a public holiday as it is an election day to vote for governors and deputy governors, regents and deputy regents, as well as mayors and deputy mayors simultaneously,” the Presidential Decree wrote.
The Presidential Decree came into force on the date of its promulgation on 27 November 2020. (PR of General Election Committee/UN) (EST/EP)
