Gov’t Distributes Food Packages for COVID-19-affected People in Greater Jakarta

Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Peter Batubara accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno symbolically officiated the distribution of staple food packages for the people in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This affirmed Government’s efforts in the mitigation of COVID-19, particularly to help those affected by the pandemic in Jakarta,” Juliari said in Jakarta, Monday (20/4).

In addition, people living in Greater Jakarta Region including Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi will also receive this package in the near future.

Ministry of Social Affairs has cooperated with a number of partners including state postal service firm PT Pos Indonesia in distributing the food packages for the next three months. The package will be distributed to 1.2 million households in Jakarta, and 600 thousand households in Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. (GUN/EN)
