Gov’t Distributes Village Fund to 53,152 Villages

The Government has announced it has distributed village funds to 53,152 villages across Indonesia.

“The village fund for other villages is ready for disbursement in State Treasury Offices (KPPN), so that the total number is 59,361 villages,” Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions Development, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar said in a press conference after Limited Cabinet Meeting, Tuesday (19/5).

According to the Minister, 53,156 villages have collected data on beneficiary families (KPM).

“There are also 46,779 (villages) that have conducted special village conference and 14,326 (villages) that have distributed cash assistance (BLT),” he said, while calling on regents/mayors to speed up distribution of cash assistance in the event that the cash and the data are available.

In the meantime, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said that the data would be updated in accordance with the updated situation.

“I invite all journalists to help disseminating the social assistance programs, including programs run by Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions Development, and Transmigration,” the Coordinating Minister said. (MAY/EN)
