Gov’t Ensures Electricity Supply for Mandalika MotoGP

The Government through Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ensured electricity supply for the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP adequate so that the international sport event carried out in Central Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara province can be successfully organized. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has coordinated with the state-owned electricity company PT PLN to avoid blackout during the event which the pre-season will start from February 11 until 13, 2022 and the main season will begin from March 18 until 20, 2022.

Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s Director of Supervision for Electricity Program Jisman Hutajulu expected that PT PLN can intensively coordinate with PT Indonesia Tourism Development Cooperation (ITDC) as the event organizer, ministers/agencies, regional governments, and other institutions to ensure electricity supply all around Mandalika area.

PT PLN is also expected to ensure all electrical installations before being operated,” Jisman said, Friday (02/11).

Earlier on February 2-4, 2022, Jisman visited Mandalika to inspect the preparedness of electricity supply during the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

Jisman further said that one of the important things to succeed both national and international events is the preparedness of electricity supply that can be well operated.

During his working visit, Jisman witnessed electrical scheme and Zero Down Time scheme that have been prepared by PT PLN. He also carried out detail inspection to electrical installations that will supply electricity to the Mandalik Circuit, as well as carried out trials of electrical backup using gensets and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

We express our appreciation to PT PLN in West Nusa Tenggara province for its Zeno Down Time scheme. This scheme provides reliable electricity services that ensure adequate electricity supply through various layered scenarios supported proper technological components,” he remarked.

For the record, for the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, PT PLN will supply the electricity in the circuit through three main electrical lines including two lines from the Kuta’s Electrical Substation and one line from Sengkol’s Electrical Substation. Two lines of medium voltage power cable spanning to 1,485 circuit kilometers from the Kuta’s Electrical Substation and one line spanning to 13,8 circuit kilometers from Sengkol’s Electrical Substation have been completed.

Furthermore, PT PLN has also prepared the supporting electrical installations including 18 units of genset, 19 units of UPS mobile, 11 units of transformer, and 16 units of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Related to number of personnel and other supporting facilities, PT PLN has prepared 104 officers, 280 personnel for technical services, 47 units of car, and 12 unit of motorbikes.
