The Government and state-owned oil and gas giant Pertamina ensured the availability of fuel supply, particularly Pertalite which is mostly consumed in Indonesia. In addition, the Government will increase the supply of diesel fuel to meet the demand for the next 20 days.

Head of Bureau of Communication, Public Information Service, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agung Pribadi, on Monday (04/04), said that Pertamina has been checking the supply of fuel at public fuel filling stations (SPBU) and fuel terminals in several regions to ensure the availability of fuel and to anticipate rise in demand during the month of Ramadan.

He went on to say that the Government has taken several strategic measures to ensure a smooth distribution of subsidized diesel fuel by issuing Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 45.K/HK.02/SJN.H/2022 on Task Force to Control the Supply and Distribution of Fuel, and conducting joint coordination and monitoring among the Government and the Ministry’s Directorate General for Oil and Gas, the Indonesian Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), and Pertamina in a number of regions experiencing diesel fuel shortage.

“The other efforts are by monitoring the stock of oil and gas fuel through command center and coordination among Pertamina, law enforcement officers, and regional governments,” he added.

According to him, Pertamina has also established RAFi Task Force for the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and prepared to provide various additional services and facilities such as additional fuel filling stations, standby fuel trucks, and rest areas which will be provided with healthcare facilities for travelers in a number of mudik (annual exodus during Eid al-Fitr) routes.
