Gov’t Ensures Secure National Energy Supply

President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (5/12) had a meeting with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and several ministers of the Cabinet at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. In a press statement following the meeting, Bahlil stated that the national energy supply is safe and secure.

Previously, he reported to the President regarding the sufficient supply of fuel, LPG, and crude oil. He explained that all energy reserves are above the national minimum standard.

“I reported to Mr. President regarding our sufficient supply of fuel up to today. Also, LPG and crude oil are all above the national minimum standard. Insha Allah, there will be no problems,” he said.

Besides, he highlighted improvements in the mining license (IUP), particularly in the forest area and other areas that have not been utilized optimally by permit holders.

On the occasion, Bahlil also explained that President Prabowo previously instructed an evaluation of mining permits that have been administratively complete but not properly implemented.

“Mr. President instructed one or two months ago to do an evaluation. And I reported the results,” he added.

The meeting demonstrated President Prabowo’s concern for national energy resilience and the Government’s commitment to the mining sector’s good governance, aiming to be more effective, fair, and siding with national interests.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/MMB)
