Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo has ensured that the availability of food supply is sufficient ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“There will be indeed a price dynamic, but in general, from the data of all officials in the field, the food supply is sufficient,” said the Minister when opening the Ramadan Bazaar Farmers Market in Jakarta, Tuesday (04/26).

The Farmers Market is one of the measures by the Government through Ministry of Agriculture to ensure the availability and stability of twelve main commodities during the month of Ramadan.

“We held Farmers’ Markets in 34 provinces in the last week of Ramadan. Ministry of Agriculture regularly organizes a Farmers Market every Ramadan,” said Syahrul.

Pasar Tani collaborates with micro, small and medium enterprises and companies that produce twelve Indonesia’s main food commodities ranging from vegetables, fresh fruits, beef, chicken, rice, oil, sugar, to other processed products at a lower price than the market price. One of the products sold is two-liter packaged cooking oil for Rp30,000 which become the most popular commodity in the market.

“The Ministry will make the best effort to fulfill the needs of the public,” said Syahrul. (PR of Ministry of Agriculture/UN) (EST/MMB)
