Gov’t Establishes National Holidays, Mass Leaves for 2025
The Government has issued a Joint Ministerial Decree of Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms; Number 1017 of 2024, Number 2 of 2024, and Number 2 of 2024 on National Holidays and Mass Leaves for 2025.
This Joint Decree is issued to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of working days and to provide guidelines for government and private institutions in implementing national holidays and mass leaves in 2025.
According to the Decree, there are seventeen days of national holidays and ten days of mass leaves in total.
“The stipulation of the first day of Ramadan 1446 Hijri, the Eid al-Fitr holiday 1446 Hijri, and the Eid al-Adha holiday 1446 Hijri shall be determined by a Ministerial Decree,” the Joint Decree reads, which was signed on October 14, 2024.
The Decree also mentioned that the working units/organizations/ institutions/ companies that provide direct services to the public at the central and/or regional level, such as hospitals, public health centers, institutions that provide telecommunication, electricity, drinking water, firefighting, safety and security, banking, transportation, and other similar working units/institutions/companies, are required to arrange the assignment of the employees/workers during the national holidays and mass leaves in 2025.
“The implementation of the mass leaves as referred may reduce the annual leave rights of employees/workers in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations and the provisions applicable to each work unit/organization/institution/company,” the Joint Decree reads.
Furthermore, it is stated that the implementation of mass leave for state apparatus is carried out in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. Meanwhile, the implementation of mass leave for private institutions is regulated by each respective head.
“This Joint Decree shall come into force on the date of its promulgation,” reads the Joint Decree.

7. 20 April (Sunday) Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter)
8. 1 May (Thursday) International Labor Day
9. 12 May (Monday) Vesak Day 2569 BE
10. 29 May (Thursday) Ascension Day of Jesus Christ
11. 1 June (Sunday) Pancasila Day
12. 6 June (Friday) Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri
