The Government has extended the Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) outside Java and Bali  from 21 September to 4 October 2021.

“In accordance with the directives of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, the PPKM extension will be carried out for two weeks from 21 September to 4 October 2021,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in a press statement regarding the latest development of PPKM, Monday (20/09).

In this period, the number of areas in level 4  dropped from 23 regencies/cities to 10 regencies/cities.

“Level 4 is still being applied in ten regencies/cities because it is related to agglomeration, population size, and vaccination rates which are still below 50 percent,” said Airlangga.

The details of the regions that implement PPKM Level 4 are Aceh Tamiang, Pidie, Bangka, Padang City, Banjarbaru City, Banjarmasin City, Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara, Tarakan City, and Bulungan.

While the areas that implement PPKM Level 3 outside Java and Bali islands are 105 regencies/cities, Level 2 are 250 regencies/cities, and Level 1 are 21 regencies/cities.

Furthermore, Airlangga emphasized that the regulation on limiting public activities remained the same as the previous period (7-20 September 2021), with adjustments to PPKM Level 3.

“At [PPKM] Level 3, malls can start operating from 10:00 to 21:00, with a maximum of 50 percent capacity, [and] screening through the PeduliLindungi application,” he said.

In addition, cinemas can also be opened with the implementation of strict health protocols, a maximum capacity of 50 percent, and screening with PeduliLindungi. (TGH/UN) (EST/LW)
