Gov’t Finalizes 195 National Strategic Projects

The Government has announced it has finalized 195 National Strategic Projects (PSN) worth Rp1,519 trillion during the 2016-2024 period.

“From 2016 until February 2024, 195 National Strategic Projects have been finalized and fully operational, with the value of Rp1,519 trillion, while seventy-seven projects and thirteen projects with the value of Rp2,960.7 trillion are still in the construction or partial production phase or partial operation phase,” Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartanto said in his press statement after attending a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

According to Airlangga, the Government aims to complete forty-one other National Strategic Projects this year, while underscoring that five projects were targeted to be completed in the period of January-March, 24 projects in the period of April-September, and twelve projects in the period of October-December.

“Of the thirty-six  National Strategic Projects targeted to be completed during the period of this year’s April-December, there are various issues that have been reported, especially related to land provision and spatial planning. Therefore, until the end of 2024, support from all stakeholders is needed,” he added.

Airlangga further said that there will be fourteen new National Strategic Projects funded by the private sector.

“I have reported to the President that there will be fourteen New Strategic Projects fully funded by the private sector. It will not be funded by the State Budget and the President has agreed with that,” he said.

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono also highlighted the importance of the land provision.

“The most important thing is that we will develop all National Strategic Projects smoothly, progressively. The faster, the better. But we also must ensure that no problems are left behind later. So, the land status must be clean and clear to use,” he remarked. (TGH/RF/UN) (AP/EP)
