Gov’t Gives KAI Injection of Rp3.6 Trillion State Equity Participation

10julbIn a bid to improve capital structure and business capacity, and in order to continue supporting national strategic projects, the Government deems it necessary to add state equity participation to the shares of State-owned Railway Company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

In that consideration, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on 2 July 2018 signed Government Regulation Number 26 of 2018 on State Equity Participation to the Shares of State-owned Railway Company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

“The state equity participation is amounting to Rp3,600,000,000,000 (three trillion six hundred billion rupiah),” Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Government Regulation reads.

Based on the Regulation, state equity participation is sourced from the State Budget (APBN) of the 2018 Fiscal Year.

This Government Regulation shall apply as of the date of its promulgation,” reads Article 3 of Government Regulation Number 26 of 2018 which is stipulated by Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly on July 4th 2018. (Pusdatin/ES)  (RAS/YM/Naster)
