President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has instructed that Plenary Cabinet Meeting must be held by strictly adhering to the health protocols.

“Keep safe distance, wear a face mask, and wash hands before entering the room. Body temperature of all participants including the ministers, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Chief, the Indonesian National Intelligence Agency Chief, and the Attorney General must be checked beforehand,” Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said during a conversation with spokesperson of the National COVID-19 Task Force Reisa Broto Asmoro before joining the Meeting on Thursday (18/6).

He went on to say that all participants also took rapid test before the Meeting since the organization of Plenary Cabinet Meeting will set a good example for regional governments to hold similar meetings.

The Meeting, he added, will discuss the Government Work Plan 2021 and budget plan.

“Development of our national economy as the impact of COVID-19 pandemic will also be discussed,” he said.

For the record, on 6 April 2020 President Jokowi signed Government Regulation Number 55 of 2020 on Cabinet Secretariat.

Based on the Government Regulation, Cabinet Secretariat is a government institution that is under and directly responsible to the President. The institution is headed by a Cabinet Secretary and is tasked to provide cabinet management support to the President and the Vice President to run the Government. (TGH/EN)
