Gov’t Injects Rp6.8 Trillion to Social Security Provider Body for Health

12-1-2016In order to maintain the continuity of  healthcare social security program provided by Social Security Provider Body for Health (BPJS Kesehatan), the Government considered it is necessary to allocate state capital participation of the Republic of Indonesia for BPJS Kesehatan that will be used for Healthcare Social Security Funds.

For that purpose, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on 29 December 2016 signed a Government Regulation Number 71 of 2016 on Addition of State Capital Participation of the Republic of Indonesia to the Capital of Social Security Provider Body for Health (BPJS Kesehatan).

Under the Regulation, the Indonesian Government adds state capital participation to BPJS Kesehatan which was established under Law Number 24 of 2011 on Social Security Provider Body.

The state capital participation comes from the 2016 State Budget, and it will be used to add net assets of the Healthcare Social Security Funds.

Added value of the state capital participation is Rp6,827,891,000,000 (six trillion eight hundred twenty seven billion eight hundred and ninety one million rupiah),” Article 2 paragraph (2) of the Government Regulation says.

The Presidential Regulation which is promulgated by Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly shall apply as of the date of its enactment, on 29 December 2016. (JDIH Kemenkumham/ES) (RAS/MMB/YM/Naster)
