Gov’t Issues Circular on Provisions for Limited Face-to-Face in Regions Imposing PPKM Level 2

Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim has issued a circular on Discretionary Implementation of the Joint Ministerial Decree of Four Ministers on Learning Activities Guidelines during COVID-19 Pandemic.

In this circular, it is stipulated that the limited face-to-face learning (The limited PTM) with maximum of 50 percent participant can be carried out in regions that impose Public Activities Restrictions (PPKM) Level 2.

The implementation of the limited PTM in education units located in areas imposing PPKM Level 1, Level 3, and Level 4 must follow the provisions regulated in the Joint Decree of Four Ministers.

The temporary suspension of the limited PTM, the circular stated, in education units must also follow the provisions regulated in the Joint Decree of Four Ministers.

According to the circular, regional governments must carry out monitoring and provide assistance for education units that implement the limited PTM. The provisions are as follows:

  1. ensuring the implementation of strict health protocols in education units;
  2. carrying out survey on health protocols compliance and epidemiological surveillance in education units;
  3. boosting COVID-19 vaccination drive for teachers, educators, students; and
  4. ensuring the suspension of the limited PTM based on the result of epidemiological surveillance that is in accordance with the Joint Decree of Four Ministers. (PR of Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology/UN) (AP/EP)
