Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and Ministry of Religious Affairs on Wednesday (02/06) launched Learning Activities Guidelines for Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Secondary Education during COVID-19 Pandemic.

“Stakeholders in the education sector do need operational guidelines that will make it easier for them to prepare and implement limited face-to-face learning,” Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim said.

The guidelines are based on the joint decree issued by Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Minister of Health, Minister of Religion, and Minister of Home Affairs.

Nadiem said that the guidelines will support teachers and education personnel in facilitating the preparation for limited face-to-face learning.

“We have advised educational stakeholders whose schools are located in the green zone with vaccinated teachers and educators to immediately implement limited face-to-face learning,” he said.

Nadiem went on to say that he is aware about educators and parents’ concerns, especially regarding health and safety factors. However, he added, there are also various long-term risks and impacts, especially for students, if the limited face-to-face learning is not implemented.

The Minister expressed hope that in implementing the limited face-to-face learning, the guidelines can be adapted and developed based on situations in each school.

In the meantime, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas expressed his support to the guidelines.

“I believe that teachers, students, parents and communities have been waiting for the guidelines,” Yaqut said.

The Minister also invited all stakeholders to immediately implement the limited face-to face learning by following the guidelines that have been launched.
