Cabinet Secretary and Coordinating Minister for the Economy announce the Launching of the Economic Policy Package XV on Tuesday (15/6), at the Presidential Office, Jakarta

Though Indonesia’s economic condition showed a positive progress after the launching of Economic Policy Packages I to XIV as reflected by an increase in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ranking from rank 106 to 91; an increase in global competitive index from rank 49 to 42; and the granting of investment grade status from Standard and Poor’s (S&P), Fitch dan Moody’s, the Government thinks that these improvement is still not good enough.

“The improvement has been made, yet the Government still considers that it is not enough because there are other sectors which we can still improve, including in EoDB,” Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said when announcing the launching of the Economic Policy Package XV on Tuesday (15/6), at the Presidential Office, Jakarta.

Pramono asserted that the President has given a target to EoDB ranking in 2017 to 2019 to be under rank 40. The global competitive index must also be under our current rank. While, the investment grade status that was granted to Indonesia must be maintained and improved.

In that consideration, Pramono added, the Government launched the Economic Policy Package XV. Pramono said that the business world has been awaited this Economic Policy Package, particularly business relating with the logistics.

The Policy is expected to make businessmen or business players who keep their logistics abroad, whether in Singapore, Malaysia, or other countries, to move them to Indonesia due to our improvement and EoDB, Pramono added.

Accompanying Pramono Anung in the launching were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution and Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi. (RMI/RAH/ES) (RA/YM/Naster)
