Ministry of Health has announced that COVID-19 patients only have to undergo PCR exit tests once on D+5.

“Starting from February 22, tonight, there is no need for the second PCR exit test. It is enough to do it just once but the result must be negative,” Minister of Health’s Expert Staff for Health Technology, Setiaji said virtually in a press statement, in Jakarta, Tuesday (02/22).

If the PCR test returns negative, Setiaji added, the status of the patient at the PeduliLindungi app will automatically turn green.

Previously, the Ministry determined that the PCR exit test must be carried out twice, namely on D+5 and D+6 with negative results on both. According to him, those who have obtained negative results from the D+5 test often raise questions on why their PeduliLindungi app still shows up black.

“(Therefore), we simplify this, there is no need for a second (PCR) exit test,” he added.

Furthermore, Setiaji also stated that the app status for those who don’t undergo a PCR exit test on D+5 will automatically turn green on D+10.

“It will automatically turn green even though you don’t carry out a PCR exit test,” he said. (PR of Ministry of Health/UN) (FI/MUR)
