The Indonesian Government has announced it has prepared 21 capsules spread in 19 regions to anticipate the spread of coronavirus, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto has said.

“Ministry of Health will prepare all infrastructure and facilities related to isolation, hospitals and so on,” Terawan told reporters after attending the Limited Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/1).

Terawan added that the evacuation capsules are placed in potential areas— all of which are checkpoints where Chinese citizens enter the country— to ease transportation from the potential place to the hospital for isolation.

According to the Minister, this isolation policy is carried out to prevent the spread of the virus and to strengthen endurance of the contracted person by providing good intake.

“If the patients are healthy, their immunity can fight the virus,” he added.

In the meantime, patients suspected to be affected by the virus, the Minister continued, are still being examined and the results will be announced as they are.

Terawan went on to say that the examinations require three to four days of checking and that also depends on the quality of the lab deliveries examined in Jakarta.

“If the lab deliveries quality is not good, we will ask for a re-examination to improve the result accuracy,” he said.

The Minister also urged the public to maintain immunity through healthy lifestyle. “Please consume foods with balanced nutrition and have adequate rest,” Terawan said.

For the record, a number of hospitals in Jakarta have been prepared to isolate the contracted patients including Sulianti Saroso Hospital, Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, and Persahabatan Hospital. (IFR/EN)
