The use of rapid testing kits for Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be prioritized for medical workers and their families, particularly those categorized as people under surveillance (ODP), according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“I also demand the availability of rapid testing kits, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing kits, and Viral Transport Media (VTM) for swift examination in the laboratory,” President Jokowi said in his introductory remarks at a Limited Meeting through video conference from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday (30/3).

A number of Governors have also requested testing devices including reagents, PCR, and VTM thus the President asked to pay attention to the procurement of the equipment.

On that occasion, he also told that service information system in referral hospitals including the availability of treatment rooms in emergency hospitals, including the Wisma Atlet (Athlete Village) must be improved.

“Registration system (at hospitals) must be integrated to online system to provide swift services to the people,” the President said.

He went on to say that pharmacies and grocery stores to remain open to serve the people by implementing strict physical distancing protocol.
