Govt Provides Electricity to Boost Investment
The Government has been successful in preventing power outage, President Joko Jokowi Widodo said.
“Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), today we dont get any complaint on power outage. The Government will continue to build more power plants to provide electricity for investment, the President said after inaugurating Cilacap Steam-fueled Power Plant (PLTU) in Cilacap, Central Java, Monday (25/2).
“In 2015, I often got complaints on power outage in provinces, cities, and municipalities, “President Jokowi said, adding that electricity access will attract more investment.
Regarding the target of 35,000-MW electricity, the President said that it would be adjusted to market demand, because too many supply will give disadvantage to state electricity company PLN.
On that occasion, the President also said that the Government has granted land concession to 2.6 million people.
“The Government will continue to give land concession to farmers and fishermen. Some of them get one hectare, the others get two hectares or three hectares. (The Government also provides land concession) to indigenous people, some of them get 800 hectares, 400 hectares or 1,600 hectares, ” the President said.
President Jokowi further said that the Government will also provide allowance for university and college students from lower income households to help them afford tuition fees. (FID/EN)
