Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as Chair of the National Committee for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that public participation in the selection of logo for the 81st Anniversary of Independence Day reflects the public’s active involvement in commemorating Indonesia’s independence. According to him, through this participatory process, the public is not merely an audience but also plays a role in determining the visual identity that represents the spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day commemoration.

“The selection of the logo for the 81st Anniversary [of the Independence] of the Republic of Indonesia provides an opportunity for the public to take part in celebrating our independence. This participation reflects the values of democracy, mutual cooperation, and a shared sense of ownership of our national symbols,” the Minister said in a written statement on Thursday (6/25).

He added that every vote and contribution from the public is an important part in the process of choosing a design that best embodies Indonesia’s aspirations, optimism, and spirit of unity.

“The commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day belongs to all Indonesians. Therefore, we have involved various elements of the society, from school and university students to creative communities and the general public, so that the logo selection process becomes a national collaborative effort that strengthens our sense of nationhood and love for the homeland,” he continued.

Furthermore, the Minister expressed his hope that the selected logo for the 81st Independence Day celebration would serve not only as a visual identity but also as a symbol of national unity and a reminder that Indonesia’s independence was achieved, fought for, and safeguarded by all Indonesians.

“Through this spirit of togetherness, we want to ensure that every Independence Day commemoration is not only a moment to remember our history but also an opportunity to strengthen our collective resolve to continue the nation’s journey toward a more advanced, just, and prosperous Indonesia,” he concluded.
