Gov’t Ready to Provide Additional Budget for MPR

The Government is ready to provide the required additional budget after the plenary session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Thursday (3/10) decided that the Assembly will have more leaders for 2019-2024 period.

“If the decision has been made, we will add the budget,” Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati told the reporters at the office of Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Friday (4/10).

The Government, the Minister added, will comply with all political decisions that have been decided by the MPR. However, she said that she was still waiting for an official notification from the Secretariat General of the MPR related to the addition of the number of leaders.

Sri went on to say that the Secretariat General of the MPR has previously informed about its budgetary needs. When drafting the 2020 State Budget, she said, the Secretariat General of the MPR has stated the budgetary needs were around Rp603.7 billion and the Government has approved the funding. (ANT/ES)
