President Prabowo Subianto Friday (02/13) attended the 2026 Indonesia Economic Outlook forum held at the Danantara Indonesia Auditorium in South Jakarta.
“All of our achievements, of which we should be proud, are the result of the hard work of the entire team I lead. You are truly among the best sons and daughters of Indonesia. I believe whole-heartedly as I have witnessed your dedication firsthand,” the President said.
On the occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto reported that Indonesia’s economy grew 5.11 percent year-on-year, supported by strong household consumption which expanded 4.98 percent.
“This reflects well-targeted economic stimulus, price stability, and increased mobility during the Christmas and New Year holidays as well as broader community economic activity,” the Minister said.
For 2026, Airlangga said the Government is targeting economic growth of 5.4 percent, with potential to reach 5.6 percent.
“Like an aircraft, we once attempted to take off in 1998 but were disrupted by international turbulence. Now we will take off within the next two years. The engines of production, be it government spending or private sector investment and the Indonesian Investment Management Agency Danantara, must operate in harmony,” he added.
The forum was also attended by ambassadors of friendly countries, Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, economists, and academics.
The Head of State’s presence at the forum underscored the Government’s commitment to maintaining national economic optimism through adaptive, collaborative, and long-term-oriented policies.
The Government views the current moment as an important juncture to strengthen national competitiveness, boost investment, and create quality employment opportunities for the public. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/EP)
