Gov’t Remains Transparent in Interim Leaders Appointment, President Jokowi Says

Appointment of interim regional leaders is based on an accountable and transparent process, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“The process is accountable and transparent. Recommendations for the candidate(s) are submitted by each region to Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) before being reviewed by the Final Assessment Team,” the President told reporters after inaugurating Cigombong-Cibadak section of Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road in Sukabumi, West Java, Friday (08/04).

Regarding the next interim West Java Governor, the President said that West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has submitted three candidates to fill the position.

For the record, the term of office of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil will end on September 5, 2023 with an interim Governor to replace him until the next election is held next year. (KS/UN) (RI/EP)
