Gov’t Sends SMS Notification for Target Recipients of COVID-19 Vaccine Batch 1

Prior to vaccination, Ministry of Health has announced it has sent notification via Short Message Service (SMS) to the people who are the target recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine batch 1.

The policy is based on Decree of Minister of Health Number HK.01.07/MENKES/12757/2020 on Stipulation of Target in COVID-19 Vaccination signed by Minister of Health Gunadi Sadikin on 28 December 2020.

The recipients are those registered in an integrated database information system of COVID-19 vaccination. Meanwhile, the vaccination will proceed once Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) is issued by the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).

In the vaccination batch 1, the recipients are 1.3 millions of medical staff, including officers assigned at health facilities, 195 thousand public officers as the front liner in COVID-19 handling such as the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) personnel, police officers, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers, and transport services officers (at airports, seaports, train stations, the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and other transport facilities), public figures, and religious figures.

The vaccine will require two doses in a 14-day interval. (Ministry of Health PR/UN) (RAS/EP)
