Govt Seriously Anticipates Disturbances During Christmas and New Year

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto asserts that the Government has seriously predicted a number of issues that may disturb security stability, peoples conveniences during their mudik (exodus), food prices, and transportation. The Minister says that the President has ordered to anticipate these issues so that people can enjoy their Christmas and New Year celebrations.<>
The Minister hopes that the celebrations can run securely. The community is also expected to involve in creating a peaceful, safe, and secure condition so that we can welcome the new year in a good state.
So far, there is no particular issue regarding threat of terrorism or security disturbances and the Government has anticipated any disturbances that may occur.
The Chief of Indonesian National Police (Polri) has cooperated with the Commander of Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) to mobilize their forces to safeguard people who go to their home town, to safeguard places of worship, and to escort some activities involving a lot of people.
