Gov’t Sets Up Independent Team to Accommodate Aspirations on Job Creation Law

Following up on the enactment of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation Law (UU Cipta Kerja) promulgated on 2 November, the Government has announced it is preparing 40 Draft Government Regulations (RPP) and four Draft Presidential Regulations (RPerpres) as derivatives of the Law to be completed within three months.

In order for the entire RPP and RPerpres to accommodate all aspirations and inputs from the public and stakeholders, the Government added it is also currently preparing an independent team to garner inputs, responses, and suggestions from the public and stakeholders, related to the substance and contents of the RPP and the RPerpres.

“The Government needs inputs from the public and all stakeholders, so that the RPP and RPerpres derived from the Job Creation Law can actually be implemented and operational in the field, while still paying attention to the interests of the public,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Friday (20/11).

For the record, the team comprises experts and figures from various fields representing various clusters contained in the Job Creation Law. The experts and figures who will sit in the team include Prof. Romly Atmasasmita, Hendardi, Prof. Satya Arinanto, Prof. Hikmahanto, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, Franky Sibarani, Agus Muharam, Emrus Sihombing, Bomer Pasaribu, KH. Robikin Emhas, Andi Najmi, Mukhaer Pakkanna, Airin Rachmy Diani, Made Suwandi, Prof. Asep Warlan Yusuf, San Safri Awang, Prof. Nur Hasan Ismail, Prof. Haryo Winarso, Prof. Muhammad Yamin, Prof. Budi Mulyanto, Eka Sastra, Najih Prastiyo, M. Pradana Indraputra, and Dani Setiawan.

“The Government will soon assign experts and national figures representing several major sectors in the Job Creation Law to sit in the Serap Aspirasi Team (a team to accommodate aspirations), which will receive inputs and also actively communicate with various elements in the preparation of RPP and RPerpres,” he said.

Airlangga expressed hope that the team will immediately carry out its duties to accommodate the aspirations of the public and will have an office at the office of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, at the 6th Floor of the Big Post Building, Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara.

The Minister also pointed out that the Government through Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has provided a channel that accommodates aspirations online through the Job Creation Law Portal.

As many as thirty implementing regulations have been posted on the portal, comprising 27 RPPs and three RPerpres.

Furthermore, the Government is also pursuing the completion of 13 RPPs and the remaining one RPerpres, including RPPs related to manpower which are still being discussed in the national tripartite comprising the Government, workers, and entrepreneurs.

For the taxation sector, the Government has organized a Serap Aspirasi event involving business actors, business associations, social organizations, academics / observers, and the media. These activities have provided many inputs in refining the three draft RPPs in the taxation sector.

The Government has also announced plan to continue a Serap Aspirasi event for other sectors by holding similar events in various regions across the country starting next week. (KEMENKO ECON PR/UN) (MUR/EP)
