The Government continues to closely monitor movements of the rupiah exchange rate and is taking necessary measures to safeguard national economic stability.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi noted that this has been made possible through close coordination among economic authorities, including Ministry of Finance, central bank Bank Indonesia (BI), and the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

“Regarding the rupiah, the Government, through Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority, has been working in close coordination to continuously monitor development and take follow-up measures,” he said in a press statement at the Presidential Complex in Jakarta, on Thursday (06/04).

The Minister also called on the public to remain optimistic about Indonesia’s economic outlook, noting that several key indicators show the country’s economic fundamentals remain strong and stable.

The Minister also noted that the strength of Indonesia’s economic fundamentals is reflected in solid economic growth and contained inflation, underscoring that these provide important capital for the country to face ongoing global economic challenges. “What we can say with certainty is that we should remain optimistic, as our economic fundamentals are reflected in solid growth and a contained inflation rate,” he said. The Minister further stated that the national economy remains resilient and, with strong policy coordination among economic authorities and robust fundamentals, the Government is confident it will stay stable.

Insha Allah, our economic fundamentals are quite strong,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/EP)
