Gov’t Strengthens State Budget and Danantara Synergy to Support the Economy
President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (09/30) chaired a limited meeting with several Red and White Cabinet ministers at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
During the meeting, Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara reported that deliberations on the 2027 draft State Budget (RAPBN) had been completed and agreed upon with the House of Representatives (DPR).
“I have reported to the President that we completed the 2027 RAPBN process yesterday and that the plenary session went smoothly, with concrete and clear support from the DPR,” Suahasil stated after the meeting.
The Minister also reported the revenue and expenditure projections in the 2027 RAPBN. State revenue was targeted to exceed Rp3,400 trillion, while state expenditure was projected to exceed Rp4,100 trillion.
“I have reported the amounts of state revenue to be collected and state expenditure: revenue of more than Rp3,400 trillion and expenditure of more than Rp4,100 trillion,” he said.
Along with the 2027 RAPBN, the Government also discussed efforts to maintain economic stability in the short-term, including strengthening various forms of assistance needed to navigate current economic conditions.
“Regarding the short term, I also reported to the President on the importance of continuing to safeguard economic conditions, including the various measures and assistance needed in the current situation. The Coordinating Minister will explain this later,” Suahasil noted.
The President then instructed that the State Budget management remain credible, and that efficiency measures be implemented in a measured manner, so the State Budget can be used optimally for public welfare, social protection, and infrastructure development.
“The President directed us to continue safeguarding the credibility of State Budget and to pursue measured efficiency so that the it can be used to its fullest potential for public welfare, social protection, and infrastructure development,” the Minister stated.
The meeting also addressed investment needs to be handled by Danantara. According to the Minister, the Government will strengthen collaboration between Danantara and the State Budget, with each playing its respective role in safeguarding the national economy.
“There was the investments needed at length. Our colleagues at Danantara will handle them, and we will encourage close collaboration between Danantara and the State Budget. In other words, Danantara and the State Budget will share responsibility for safeguarding the Indonesian economy,” Suahasil said.
Suahasil explained that the State Budget would remain focused on funding public services, basic infrastructure, and government operations, while Danantara would take a greater role in investment as part of their joint efforts to manage the national economy.
“The State Budget finances public services, basic infrastructure, and government operations, while Danantara focuses on investment. We discussed at length the synergies we need to pursue together,” he said.
Regarding the passing of the bill on the 2027 State Budget, Suahasil confirmed that the deliberations with the DPR concluded on September 29, 2026.
The bill was passed at a DPR plenary session, completing the legislative stage of the 2027 State Budget process.
“It was completed yesterday and passed by the DPR,” Suahasil confirmed.
