The Indonesian Government and the House of Representatives (DPR) have decided to postpone the deliberation of the Manpower Cluster in the Omnibus Bill on Job Creation, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“I heard the Speaker of the House of Representatives has told the public about the postponement,” President Jokowi said, Friday (24/4).

This decision, the President stated, was made to provide opportunities for the House and the Government to further explore the substance of the relevant articles as well as to obtain input from stakeholders.

For the record, the Government has submitted a Presidential Letter, Academic Analysis, and Bill on Job Creation to the House, on 12 February 2020.

The Bill is designed to meet the needs of workers, SMEs, and industry. (UN/EN)
