The Government emphasizes accelerating inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the 2025 Government Work Plan (RKP).

“Why is it inclusive and sustainable economic growth and the use of the word ‘acceleration’? First, considering that the year 2025 marks the beginning of the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). The 2025-2029 RPJMN is highly strategic and is also part of the start of the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) for Golden Indonesia,” said Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa after attending a plenary cabinet meeting, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (02/26).

Suharso revealed that in 2025, the Government aims for the rate of economic growth to be between 5.3-5.6 percent. In addition, the Government also aims to reduce the poverty rate to 6-7 percent and the open unemployment rate to 4.5-5 percent.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said that in addition to accelerating economic growth, the 2025 State Budget will also focus on improving people’s well-being and convergence or more evenly distributed growth between regions.

“For this initial posture, it has been stated that both state revenues and state expenditures are maintained, meaning that the deficit is somewhere between 2.45 [percent] to 2.8 percent of GDP. Mr. President ordered that the deficit be strictly controlled, thus in a global situation of high-interest rates and geopolitical turmoil, confidence in the State Budget can still be maintained,” the Minister said.
