Gov’t to Calculate Impact of Fuel Price Hike

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered relevant Government officials to make a proper calculation before making a decision to increase the price of the subsidized RON-90 fuel Pertalite.

“I have ordered [relevant Government officials] to calculate everything before making any decision,” the President said after inspecting Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, Tuesday (08/23).

According to the President, the increase in the price of Pertalite will have a major impact on the livelihoods of many people.

“It will affect livelihood of many people, so every decision must be made properly, and the impact must be calculated because it will affect people’s purchasing power and household consumption,” the President said.

The President further said that the price increase will also affect inflation rate and the national economic growth. (FID/UN) (RI/MUR)
